What do you have to say for yourself? So here's the thing. Ophiuchus, the "13th sign", is a constellation. Signs and constellations are not the same thing. Constellations are named groups of stars which vary widely in size, zodiac signs are equal 30 degree divisions of the ecliptic. While we're at it, astrologers know about the precession of the equinoxes, too, and have the whole time — about years.
The zodiac you're probably most familiar with is the tropical zodiac, whose starting point is anchored on the spring equinox. The sidereal zodiac is anchored on the fixed stars, which shift slowly through time precession. Neither zodiac perfectly lines up with the constellations, and neither ever did. So no, there are not 13 signs, and your sign didn't change. This is the short version: please see this long version that expounds the technical details of this topic. Or it could mean building a legacy through discipline, patience, and perseverance. Planets represent the transient experiences of your life and personality. For instance, Mercury relates to interactive learning. Mars relates to self-determined action. Saturn relates to developing structure. When you look at your birth chart, you should also look at your sun, moon, ascendent, and chart ruler.
The sun and moon represent the fundamental elements of your personality. The sun represents your outwardly focused, expressive side. The moon represents your inwardly focused, reflective side. Meanwhile, your ascendent represents the qualities you are developing as a result of your life experiences. Combined with your chart ruler , it tells you how your life is going to unfold and how your personality will develop based on your life experiences.
There are plenty of websites where you can type in your date of birth, time of birth, and location of birth in order to get a look at your own birth chart. Even though the tropical system is more popular in Western areas of the world, Hindu astrology continues to use the sidereal system for their predictions. However, there are problems with both systems.
The tropical system is based on the seasons, which is problematic since they are flipped in the northern and southern hemispheres. Meanwhile, in sidereal astrology, the constellations do not line up with the signs perfectly, so sidereal astrologers debate the starting point for the zodiac.

Cancer, commonly the crab today, is also the Egyptian Scarabaeus, an image that articulates the theme of humanity's emergence from darkness, dogma, and delusion and its reawakening back to light. The Scarab is an appropriate mythical figure here because the beetle emerges from its snuggle in its own dung, where it matures. The Scarab is a symbol of regeneration, transformation and re-birth, of being self-created, or self-made, to rise from itself—hence humanity's association with the beetle's emergence.
Preceding the development of the Greco-Roman zodiac, which we commonly use today, the Egyptian Scarabaeus rolling its ball of dung referred to the equinoctial Sun's precessional movement, thus articulating the evolutionary progression and development of human consciousness—the evolutionary cycle of the soul. This mythical articulation had also been lost due to early Egyptologists' superficial interpretation of Egyptian hieroglyphics and the erroneous assumption that precession was unknown to the ancient astronomers of Egypt and Mesopotamia.
Calculating the exact location of the sidereal cusps in the ecliptic is a topic of debate amongst scholars due to star and planetary placements being measured from the moving vernal point. Most ayanamsas are reckoned to the stars. This poses a problem because today we recognize that stars are not really "fixed, but do actually move and in many different directions. A stars movement is called its "Proper Motion. One of the most common ayanamsas is the Fagan-Bradley Ayanamsa. It is reckoned to the star Spica in sidereal Virgo.

Other arguments adjust the sidereal signs such that Aldebaran's ecliptical longitude is exactly in the center of sidereal Taurus; or that of Antares in the center of sidereal Scorpio those being two of the four royal architects meaning: revealing structure in the heavens. The Babylonian Zodiac is referenced to Aldebaran, with it marking the center of Taurus. Regulus is considered the King or Chief of the four Royal Stars. Regulus is from Rex, meaning lawgiver; i.
Regulus, however, was not always close to Earth's ecliptic plane nor at the same ecliptic longitude due to Regulus' Proper Motion. The galactic equatorial axis is far more "fixed" than the stars as seen from Earth, which move over longer periods of time. I am placing astrological and astronomical precedence in the geometric relationship between the vernal axis and the galactic axis over the relationship of tropical and sidereal signs.
